Iron Dog 2011

As Sarah Palin has noted, February is the busiest time of the year for the Palins, and for good reason! Today, Todd Palin started the Iron dog race with his partner Quam (team #11) in Big Lake, Alaska. Governor Palin tweeted this photo of the start:

The 2,000+ mile race follows the route of the iditarod to Nome, and then cuts across to the finish in Fairbanks:

I'm happy to report that team #11 is leading the pack and has stopped in McGrath, Alaska, for 10 hours of sleep. What's really cool about this race is that they all have GPS units, so you can track their progress online. You can also check their ranking and stats here.
